Issues with fertility are not gender biased, affecting men and women equally; however, the emotional turmoil associated with the inability to conceive naturally can be more difficult for women.
Women who are experiencing difficulty in conceiving naturally can be affected by past emotional issues. It is important to acknowledge the effects of numerous disappointments and feelings associated with infertility, and releasing these feelings with your partner to help prevent depression or other health concerns. Being able to conceive naturally, or by IVF or other fertility treatments, can be aided by effective techniques that help you to feel relaxed and prepared for any fertility treatments you decide to follow. Fertility issues which can be helped by hypnotherapy include:
- Pre-IVF treatment
- IVF treatment
- Infertility (male and female)
- Increased sperm count
- Failed IVF treatment
The Nursing and Midwifery Order 2001, Part 9 Article 44 explains that it is illegal for an unqualified person to undertake the role of a registered midwife. Article 45 further explains that no person other than a registered midwife or a registered medical practitioner shall attend a woman in childbirth (assume responsibility, assist or assume the role of a medical practitioner) unless in an emergency or in supported recognised training.
Hypnotherapy for fertility treatment is not designed to replace conventional medical health care. You must continue with your agreed medical treatment, and comply with advice from your midwife, specialist or general practitioner, and advise them of your desire to undertake hypnotherapy before, during or after childbirth, and follow the medical advice given by your healthcare provider during any hypnotherapy treatment.
